Paticipation is The New Luxury
Rare Access to a Filmmaker's Expedition
For today's most discerning travelers, luxury is measured in proximity, access, and participation. In knowing the difference between passing through and being invited in.
This expedition offers what no tour operator can provide: mobile camps in regions with no teahouse infrastructure, villages that do not receive visitors, ancient trade routes through Tibetan-influenced highlands, and time with the communities at the heart of Planet 5's preservation work.
Trek into remote corners of the Himalaya where few Westerners have walked. Camp beside glacial lakes at altitudes where the air thins and the world simplifies. Cross high passes that connect valleys the old way. End with a helicopter flight over Everest at dawn.
Access over spectacle. Presence over programming. Small groups of ten, never more.
The Experience
The Journey
The Wildlife Corridor
Begin where Planet 5's preservation work is taking shape. Walk the coffee terraces and forest corridors connecting fragmented habitats. See how sustainable agriculture and wildlife preservation can work together.
Himalayan Coffee Farm
Visit the farm Tashi Tenzing has built in the Himalayan foothills. Meet the families growing specialty coffee on steep mountain terraces. See the school, the production facility, the village that Planet 5 is helping to support. Share a meal with Tashi at his home. This is not a tour stop. This is invitation into a family legacy.
Into the Remote Himalaya
Trek into regions where few Westerners have ever walked. Mobile camps, no teahouse infrastructure. Ancient trade routes, Tibetan-influenced villages, landscapes that have remained unchanged for centuries. Local guides who know these mountains as home lead you through terrain that cannot be found on any tourist itinerary.
High Passes, Alpine Lakes and Snow Leopards
Cross passes that connect valleys the old way. Camp beside glacial lakes at altitudes where the air thins and the world simplifies. Blue sheep grazing on impossible slopes. Snow leopard tracks beckoning a chance sighting. Prayer flags marking routes that pilgrims have walked for centuries. This is the Himalaya as it has always been.
Mountain Communities
Stay in villages that do not appear on tourist itineraries. Share meals with families whose ancestors built these stone homes. Learn traditions that have survived centuries of change. This is not cultural performance. This is invitation.
Everest at Dawn
End where the Himalaya reveals itself in full. A helicopter flight over the highest peaks on Earth. Breakfast with Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu rising from the clouds. Some views cannot be earned. They can only be witnessed.

We only want people on this expedition who genuinely want to be there.
Planet 5 exists for those who want to be closer.
Closer to the landscapes that shape the planet. Closer to the cultures that have lived alongside them for generations. Closer to experiences that cannot be replicated, purchased, or performed.
Nepal is where Planet 5's preservation work began. Coffee terraces carved into mountainsides. Wildlife corridors connecting fragmented habitats. Villages where families have farmed the same land for centuries. This is not a trip to see what we support. This is a journey into the heart of it.
This is not a destination. It is a homecoming.

This is the art of being there.
