Planet 5 x OutIn — Partnership Overview

Precision, Craft,
and the Love of Mountains

Where luxury mountain preservation meets precision portable brewing — a partnership built for the world's most extraordinary places and the people who protect them.

"A traditional brand sells you something, and the relationship usually ends at checkout. We're building something more interconnected — buy the coffee or the art or travel on an expedition and you're already invested in the mountain it came from, whether you meant to be or not."

— Dirk Collins, Founder, Planet 5

Planet 5 is a mountain preservation platform built on the conviction that commerce should protect the places it celebrates. Through rare high-altitude coffee, fine art photography, curated luxury expeditions, and Guardian Memberships, every revenue stream returns value directly to the mountain communities and ecosystems at the heart of our work.

Founded by Dirk Collins — TGR co-founder, Emmy-nominated filmmaker, and National Geographic photographer — Planet 5's first anchor brand partnership is with Teton Gravity Research. OutIn is the natural next step: a shared love of mountains, precision, and the craftsmanship that makes extraordinary places feel even more alive.

Everest Coffee Company Nepal Collection at altitude, Himalaya

The Nepal Collection

Everest Coffee Company hunts the world's rarest high-altitude coffees — single origins from the wild, hard-to-reach places most roasters never go. Lots are released in small drops rather than mass volume. The Nepal Collection is the first: a single-origin from Nuwa Estate, grown at 1,400m in the shadow of Everest, and the first coffee from this farm ever offered in the United States. East Africa and South America follow.

The farm's story starts in 1953, when Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary became the first to stand on Everest. A lifetime later his grandson, Tashi Tenzing, climbed it and came home to a farm his wife, Bandi Nima Sherpa, was building on the hillside below. She called it Nuwa Estate.

Seventy thousand Arabica plants grow there now, cultivated without chemicals at altitude among avocado, banana, and Himalayan spice. Every cherry is tended by hand. What the farm earns, it returns — to schools, clinics, and the forests that shelter them.

1,400m · 70,000 Arabica plants · 100% organic, no chemicals
Hand-tended, small batch · Single-origin medium-dark roast
First release shipping October 2026 · everestcoffeecompany.com

Why We Belong Together

The Natural Alignment

The Mountain Is Everything

OutIn was born from the simple wish to enjoy quality coffee outdoors — from cityscapes to mountaintops. Planet 5 was built to protect those mountaintops and the communities living on them. Both brands exist because of the mountain. Both believe it deserves more than a backdrop.

Quality Without Compromise

OutIn engineers precision espresso machines that deliver barista quality at altitude. Planet 5 sources rare, high-altitude single-origin coffee from farmers who hand-tend every cherry. Neither brand believes that going further means settling for less. That shared standard is what makes a co-branded product feel authentic rather than opportunistic.

Commerce That Gives Back

OutIn partners with World Coffee Research to strengthen coffee farming communities and invests in ocean preservation through Shark Angels. Planet 5 returns every revenue stream directly to the mountain communities and ecosystems at the center of its work. Both brands believe that a purchase should mean something beyond the transaction.

No Boundaries, No Limits

OutIn's founding philosophy is #NoBoundaries — breaking the invisible barrier between indoor and outdoor life. Planet 5's expeditions take guests to places most travelers never reach. Both brands are built for people who refuse to be limited by where they are — and who believe the best experiences happen far from the expected.

Sustainability as a Standard

OutIn's Rebrew program turns coffee waste into eco-friendly products. Their machines eliminate 365 disposable cups per year, per user. Planet 5's direct-trade model removes exploitative supply chain layers and returns earnings to farmers, forests, schools, and clinics. Sustainability is not a campaign for either brand — it is a design principle.

Adventure Is the Audience

OutIn's community skews toward hikers, climbers, cyclists, skiers, and outdoor enthusiasts who demand quality wherever they go. Planet 5's audience is the luxury adventure traveler — the person who wants the wild place and the beautiful object and the story behind both. These audiences are not the same, but they are deeply complementary — and both are looking for brands that take the mountain as seriously as they do.
